From the age of 13, I've had an unquenchable passion for creating and investing in groundbreaking technology products. My ardor has led me to build more than 30 apps single-handedly before I was an adult, and I was fortunate enough to sell my first app for 1.7 million dollars when I was just 17. Through my Incubator Fund, Startup Studio, I've been privileged to aid in the growth and success of over 100+ Web2 companies, and as an Angel Investor and Advisor in over 400+ Web3 companies , with a combined market cap surpassing $100B USD. These firms serve tens of millions of users globally, and I'm immensely proud to be part of their journey. I've been honored with the opportunity to be featured on more than 8 TV shows and share my knowledge at hundreds of events, including over 7 enlightening TEDx talks, numerous blockchain-specific events, and prestigious gatherings like the World Economic Forum, United Nations and G20 Summit. I've also had the joy of delivering guest lectures at esteemed institutions like Delhi University, Washington State University, and San Francisco State University. From 2016 to 2018, I managed a crypto investment bank, playing a key role in boosting projects from $10M to a phenomenal $10B+ in market cap. My portfolio includes equity investments in industry game-changers like Hashgraph and Ripple, HYGH, and token investments in Nakamoto Games, CoinsPaid, Veve Ecomi, Cryowar, PolkaFantasy and hundreds of more startups. In recent years, I've been deeply involved in the crypto space, advising more than 25 projects from listing to go-to-market strategies while delivering multiple 100x returns for our partners. My keen interest in NFTs has driven me to curate a diverse portfolio of prized assets including but not limited to Bored Apes, Degods, CryptoPunks, Doodles, SMB, Xcopy, CloneX and over 1000+ other NFTS purchased on-chain for over $5M+. Mike never liked being put in a box so he spent the last 25 years as an entrepreneur, investment banker, author, professor, speaker, angel investor, and pro bono fundraiser for various charities. Serving as Chairman of Qlarivia since 2022, Mike’s focus is on transforming the world’s first patented Deuterium Depleted Water (DDW) into a global brand, beyond the 45 countries it currently sells its products to. From 2011 to 2022, Mike served as: - CEO of d10e (2017-2022), the leading voice on decentralization with 24 global editions in Amsterdam, Bucharest, Cayman Islands, Davos, Gibraltar, Kyiv, Liberland, Ljubljana, Malta, Puerto Rico, Seoul, Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Vilnius and Warsaw. - Advisory Board Member of TasS or Token-as-a-Service (2017-2020), the first-ever tokenized closed-end fund dedicated to blockchain investments. Raised 3,536 BTC and 45,273 ETH ($7.6 million in USD equivalent in April 2017). The fund invested $100k to $2 million in 35 blockchain projects and completed over 50,000 daily trades. During the 2-year life of the fund, investors enjoyed a 446% return. - CEO of Finwise Summit (2019-2020) and an Advisory Board Member (2017-2019) with 7 editions hosted in Davos, Hong Kong, Macao, Shanghai, and Tokyo. - Managing Partner of KrowdMentor (2016-2018), a strategic investment & advisory firm for blockchain projects. - Member of Tech Coast Angels (2011 to 2018), a network of 400 angel investors in Southern California who invested $300 million in 554 deals and raised $2 billion in additional capital. From 2006 to 2011, Mike was the founding president of Leo & Leo, representing brands such as Maserati, Segway, NetJets, PrivatSea, Sunseeker Yachts, NetSuite, Marsh, Orgil Greenhouses, Miss Universe and Rockstar Energy Drink. Total sales amounted to €60 million. From 2000 to 2006, Mike was the founding CEO of Pioneer TeleCare, an e-commerce firm with revenues of $4 million. From 1998 to 2003, Mike was an Associate at WestPark Capital, The Interlink Group, and Millennium Capital Partners, all LA-based i-banking firms. Mike holds a degree in Economics (1999) from Pepperdine University, a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine’s School of Law (2003), and has completed the Program on Negotiations for Senior Executives at Harvard (2008).
