Mike never liked being put in a box so he spent the last 25 years as an entrepreneur, investment banker, author, professor, speaker, angel investor and pro bono fundraiser for various charities.
Since 2017, Mike has served as:
- CEO of d10e, the leading voice on decentralization with 24 global editions in Amsterdam, Bucharest, Cayman Islands, Davos, Gibraltar, Kyiv, Liberland, Ljubljana, Malta, Puerto Rico, Seoul, Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Vilnius and Warsaw.
- Advisory Board Member of Token-as-a-Service (TaaS), the first-ever tokenized closed-end fund dedicated to blockchain investments. Raised 3,536 BTC and 45,273 ETH ($7.6 million in USD equivalent in April 2017). The fund invested $100k to $2 million in 35 blockchain projects and completed over 50,000 daily trades. During the 2-year life of the fund, investors enjoyed a 446% return.
- CEO of Finwise Summit (2019-2020) and an Advisory Board Member (2017-2019) with 7 editions hosted in Davos, Hong Kong, Macao, Shanghai, Tokyo.
- Founder of Blockchain Investors Consortium (BIC) which created an investment prize fund of $2.3 million and awarded the top 43 winners out of 186 participating startups at 15 separate d10e events.
From 2016 to 2018, Mike served as Managing Partner of KrowdMentor, a strategic investment & advisory firm for blockchain projects. From 2011 to 2018, Mike was a member of Tech Coast Angels (TCA), a network of 330 angel investors in Southern California who invested $218 million in 380 deals and raised $1.66 billion in additional capital.
From 2006 to 2011, Mike was the founding president of Leo & Leo, representing brands such as Maserati, Segway, NetJets, PrivatSea, Sunseeker Yachts, NetSuite, Marsh, Orgil Greenhouses, Miss Universe and Rockstar Energy Drink. Total sales amounted to €60 million.
From 2000 to 2006, Mike was the founding CEO of Pioneer TeleCare, an e-commerce firm with revenues of $4 million. From 1998 to 2003, Mike was an Associate at WestPark Capital, The Interlink Group, Millennium Capital Partners, all LA-based i-banking firms.
Mike holds a degree in Economics (1999) from Pepperdine University, a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine’s School of Law (2003) and has completed the Program on Negotiations for Senior Executives at Harvard (2008).
Born in Romania in 1977, Mike migrated to Israel in 1988 and then to the US in 1992. Mike was featured in USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Inc. Magazine, Entrepreneur, CCTV, Business Week, Top Gear and numerous other media outlets.
